Hi, everyone! So, I've just returned home from a week of visiting clients in London and Paris. It was a great trip - jet lag notwithstanding - and ended on a very high note with the Document Interoperability Initiative event in London this past Monday.
I am so happy to have had the opportunity to take part in this event ... I learned quite a lot about topics ranging from extensibility (very cool presentation from Stephen Peront, who also hosted the event) to document conversion to the standards process and then some. Recently, I've been running into the difference between the file formats (Open XML) and implementations thereof (i.e., Office) in my work - so topics around interoperability and extensibility were very timely. And, it was also quite interesting to learn more about efforts being made in the global community around interoperability and the progress of document formats, including but not limited to Open XML.
To read more about this event, check out Stephen Peront's blog. Stephen has posted the agenda from Monday's conference - and his most recent post promises more on the subjects of interoperability and extensibility - so definitely keep an eye out there!
Meanwhile ... if you sent me mail asking for help on an Office topic while I was away, I'll be catching up on those this week. If you don't get an answer by this Friday, feel free to ping me again.
Happy Wednesday everybody!
