Hello everybody! This is just quick note to tell you about a marvelous new resource for those of you who are working with the Open XML behind your documents and looking to go deeper (and deeper still :)
You may already know about a wonderful site - Document Interop Initiative (http://www.documentinteropinitiative.org/) - where you can find the complete Office Open XML documentation (ECMA-376).
The Office Interoperability Team at Microsoft has now published implementer notes for ECMA-376 on that site that provide a lot of additional information from their experience to help developers who are creating solutions with Open XML.
The official ECMA-376 documentation, as you may already know, is written for developers ... so those of us mere mortals who aren't fluent in Dev Speak but are nonetheless working with Open XML may find the standards documentation a bit tough to wade into at times, but still an essential resource where you can ultimately find what you need, as long as you already understand Open XML basics.
The implementer notes, while (of course) also written for developers, are even more accessible and remarkably helpful even from just a first glance ... But, the folks who created them can better tell you more -- so check out Doug Mahugh's blog post for more details and directions on how to access the notes.
