TO ASK A QUESTION: If you have a question or need help with Office, please feel free to use the 'Click to Contact' link at the bottom of this page. You'll get a form that you can use to email a question to me. (I had been getting a ton of spam when accepting direct emails, so only emails that use this form will get through to me.)
Please be sure to mention the version of Office you are using when you send your question.
I answer all e-mails that I receive via this form, as long as they are polite :)
Since disabling comments on this site, I'm actually hearing from more of you with questions ... so, as it seems people prefer to email rather than comment, I'm going to leave comments disabled. As always, you can ask me any Office-related questions you have. If the question is outside of my expertise, I'll try to direct you to where you can get an answer.
I'm not MIA ... it's just the book deadlines ...
Hi, everyone! Just a quick note to apologize for my absence. I was checking something on this site earlier and noticed that my last post was 2 weeks ago.
I'm sorry for the neglect -- i'll be back in action very soon, and will start posting with new tips, etc ... Have one more week of writing to go on the book - and then things will slowly start to get back to normal ...
Meanwhile - I've neglected to mention in any posts yet that the wonderful Word 2007 team has a fairly new blog where they've been very active with a lot of fantastic content. In fact, several of the Office team blogs have been very active with a lot of great new stuff leading up to and since RTM ... here are a few favorites ...
The Word team blog - several of the Word program managers are getting into the mix here and there's just a ton of good info on a lot of topics
Brian Jones's blog on the Office Open XML Formats - Brian has been so prolific with incredible content on the new file formats -- anyone who's already been learning about the new file formats already knows this link for sure. But, with Office now released to manufacturing and so many more of you starting to check out the 2007 release for the first time ... this is an indispensible mention
Jensen Harris' blog on the new UI - this is another jackpot of incredible insider info and lots and lots to learn -- including a great deal on Ribbon extensibility (which is much easier than you might expect, if you haven't tried it yet!)
I also know that I need to update my Get Help With Office pages with my recent webcasts and articles... will do that asap. Meanwhile, if you missed any of my series of advanced 2007 webcasts and need the on-demand link, just post a comment here and I'll get that to you ... there were individual sessions on Word, Excel charts, PowerPoint, and Visio\Excel integration ...
Other than that - thanks for your patience! I'll write more as soon as the last of my chapters is delivered (well, I'll probably have a glass of champagne first - but i'll write more shortly after that :)
Happy Thursday everybody!
