TO ASK A QUESTION: If you have a question or need help with Office, please feel free to use the 'Click to Contact' link at the bottom of this page. You'll get a form that you can use to email a question to me. (I had been getting a ton of spam when accepting direct emails, so only emails that use this form will get through to me.)
Please be sure to mention the version of Office you are using when you send your question.
I answer all e-mails that I receive via this form, as long as they are polite :)
Since disabling comments on this site, I'm actually hearing from more of you with questions ... so, as it seems people prefer to email rather than comment, I'm going to leave comments disabled. As always, you can ask me any Office-related questions you have. If the question is outside of my expertise, I'll try to direct you to where you can get an answer.
Happy Beta Day! ... with articles, webcasts, cool links, and all sorts of good stuff :)
Hi, all! So, if you aren't yet one of the gazillion people clogging up the download servers for the Office and Vista beta 2 releases - what are you waiting for?!??! :)
Yes, I'm a bit more excited than I really should be that I'm getting both the Office 2007 beta 2 and the Windows Vista beta 2 today. Yay :) But ... I also have a few links to share that might be interesting.
First of all - if you haven't gotten the link to the Office beta site yet - here it is:
http://www.microsoft.com/office/preview/default.mspx
Click the 'get the beta' link in the navigation pane for links to download the betas.
Also, on that site are links to the new Office Beta Community pages, which just went live today as well and will have a lot of good info. Click the link below to check out my first article on this site (on tips for getting up to speed with the new user interface), along with a few others including great articles from Office MVP Beth Melton (on the XML file formats) and author and Excel MVP Curt Frye (on Excel business intelligence):
Office Beta Community Articles
Note: my article at the link above will be updated shortly with some new screenshots for beta 2, which just became available. So, very temporarily, if some screen shots look a bit different from what you see when you install beta 2 -- not to worry - they should :)
Also - please join me tomorrow for my first Windows Vista webcast -- some fun things there for both Windows and Office folks:
Expert Zone Support WebCast: Access and manage information more easily with the search and organization tools in Microsoft Windows Vista
webcast starts at 10am Pacific; 1pm Eastern time.
... and last but CERTAINLY not least ... check out Joe Friend's blog today for an excellent article on the new look of Word 2007 documents. Joe is the Senior Program Manager for Word 2007, and he and other members of his team are posting info about the program to this site. The article on the new document look posted today was written by Stuart Stuple - Word Program Manager for a wide range of formatting topics. There is no better source than this and other blogs by the product teams (see my links page for a few favorites). These guys design the programs -- so they kinda know what they're talkin' about ;-)
Happy Beta Day Everybody!! :)

Hi, Robert,
I'm actually having the same issue right now on my machine that's also running Vista Beta 2 -- and am investigating. Will add a new blog post as soon as I have an answer. Meanwhile, if this problem is occurring on a machine running Win XP, please let me know.
Thanks!
Steph
