TO ASK A QUESTION: If you have a question or need help with Office, please feel free to use the 'Click to Contact' link at the bottom of this page. You'll get a form that you can use to email a question to me. (I had been getting a ton of spam when accepting direct emails, so only emails that use this form will get through to me.)
Please be sure to mention the version of Office you are using when you send your question.
I answer all e-mails that I receive via this form, as long as they are polite :)
Since disabling comments on this site, I'm actually hearing from more of you with questions ... so, as it seems people prefer to email rather than comment, I'm going to leave comments disabled. As always, you can ask me any Office-related questions you have. If the question is outside of my expertise, I'll try to direct you to where you can get an answer.
Back in action ...
Hi everyone! I just realized that I never mentioned I was taking a bit of a hiatus from posting -- didn't intend for it to be a full two weeks. Sorry for having disappeared, but I've got a good excuse :)
I was out at Microsoft week before last for several reasons, including the MVP Global Summit -- which was an absolutely fantastic experience. On a personal note, I got to meet a lot of the MVPs who I've only previously met online and that was great -- there's a lot of knowledge and experience among the MVPs ... and, proud Office geek that I am ... it's nice to be in such empathic company ;-)
On a geek note ... I got to see Steve Ballmer speak in person for the first time, and yes folks -- if you haven't seen him -- he really is that impressive. It's not the same feeling I get when I think about Brad Pitt ;-) ... but I do get a bit weak in the knees for that kind of genius and energy. And, I don't mind admitting that I arrived early that morning and waited in line to make sure I could sit right upfront :)
On a professional note ... Office 12 is so totally, unabashedly cool! And, Windows Vista and IE 7 are no small upgrades either. There are fabulous new things on the horizon ... It's much too early for me to blog about Office 12 -- and Windows and IE are out of my blog scope for the most part anyway -- BUT, if you are interested in starting to learn about what's on the way -- there are places to start getting some very good info.
First -- check out the links section on the bottom-right corner of this page for links to blogs from members of the Office team, including Steve Sinofsky, Chris Pratley, and Brian Jones. There is no better place to get your info -- these are some of the people who make Office. Check out the recommended links on their pages as well for more resources...
And, for the basic scoop on each of these and to keep apprised of when more info will be available, check out the Microsoft links for each:
Office 12
Windows Vista
IE7
... and for more on Windows Vista, check out Ed Bott's blog -- also in my links section below. Ed is a Windows security expert and an author for MS Press (among others) -- and he is blogging about Vista.
Okay -- so that explains week before last ... but then I came back to A LOT of work and was pretty much behind on several projects. And, we're right in the middle of the Jewish high holidays, so last week and this coming week are both short ones for me.
Anyway ... enough excuses :) I'm back now. I got a few emails and comment postings with technical questions while I was away -- so I'll do new posts over the course of this coming week with the answers. If you're one of the folks who posted a question that I've not answered yet -- thanks for your patience!
Happy Sunday everybody!
