I live in Manhattan. One of the coolest things about my apartment is the fact that it opens directly onto a courtyard with a beautiful garden (a rare privilege in the city).

And yet, yesterday, as I finished working for the day and was getting ready to run an errand, I didn't open my front door to see what the weather was like. I didn't even open the blinds to look out of the windows in my office. I opened IE and went to weather.com.

That, my friends, is the sad but true story of a computer addict...
